Show’s Over

Show's Over

I took this near the movie theatre in downtown Knoxville. I’ve noticed a greater focus on textures in my photos lately,. I played around with the composition of this by rotating the image around;decided on this one because I felt it gave the illusion of “PoPpinG!” …There’s a relationship between the ground and the popcorn, as if the corn emerges from the cracks, or perhaps that the cement is worn by the tread of the corn…. Also, I think there’s an editorial element to it. Something so exemplary of humanity. There’s something interesting about the careless abandon. I wonder who spilled the popcorn, and why?Was it an accident, was it playful, was it destructive? Either way, its the result of human action that’s intriguing to me.
